They say, Newspapers ‘Are’ history. And it cannot be truer. If we take a look across all the modes of chronicling history, the newspapers stand above everything else. Yes, the newspaper. One, which we usually do not even associate with history.

But what makes the newspapers so different? Actually, it’s the simple fact that newspapers give you the historical set of events, as they occurred. There are no opinions, no perspectives and no biases. It’s just plain old news. A chronicle of a set of events exactly as they occurred. It’s news in the purest form. News that hasn’t been tainted by the literary expertise of a historian or the manipulative demands of a politician.

All this is great, but the real dampener comes when you want to locate an old newspaper but are unable to do so. There are many reasons why this may be so.
